Back Pain Relief

You don’t have to live with back pain. Many of us think that back pain is normal. And it is!

Back pain is your body’s natural “check engine” light. The pain is alerting you that something is wrong. Typically we address back pain by taking medications or modifying our lives.

The truth is our treatment modalities are the most recommended treatment methods by the world’s leading health publications. As our patient, you can rest assured as we use the best practices to get rid of your pain so that you can do all the things you enjoy.

Techniques:

Chiropractic Adjustments

Also referred to as spinal manipulations, these adjustments offer a quick, controlled manual thrust to a targeted joint, usually in the back or neck, but can also be applied to other joints. This solution often inspires immediate relief from pain and restores mobility.

The Graston Technique

This technique uses small Chiropractic tools that serve to break down scar tissue with much more intention and swiftness than using hands alone. Scar tissue can cause many problems, including pain and loss of range of motion; when it’s effectively broken down, the body’s natural function will be restored.

Activator Technique

The Activator Technique uses a spring-loaded, handheld instrument to adjust a targeted area. It offers a quick, low-impact impulse at any specific point of the body that is injured.

Laser Therapy

Dr. Bailey uses Class IV Laser Therapy to promote relaxation in the harmed area of the body. This is the strongest laser therapy of its kind and offers immediate relief. A wand will be applied to pressed into the tissue, warmth will be generated, and the affected area will feel calm and loose.

Kinesio Tape

Often used on our athletic patients, this therapy applies a specialty tape to the skin over the affected area. It creates comfort, alleviating pain and swelling as it provides support to the joints and muscles.

Decompression Deep Compression Therapy

We use this FDA approved safe therapy on the lower back and neck. It helps pump and hydrate the return spinal discs  which allows them to return to their correct position.,  This restores the contributing to the body’s full function and mobility.

Dry Needling

Dr. Bailey is certified in this effective treatment. Using thin acupuncture needles placed in the affected areas’ muscles, tendons, or ligaments; the pain will be minimized, and muscles relax, releasing tension.

Cupping

Cupping dates back thousands of years and is a form of care that uses suction to ease tension, stress, and pain. Placing cups on the affected area back, the skin and tissues will slightly lift, allowing increased blood flow to the areas in need.

Functional Rehabilitation Therapy and Corrective Exercises

We will create an exercise regimen to complement and coincide with your Chiropractic therapies solutions to achieve quicker long-lasting results. Keeping in mind your ability, goals, and safety, you will be able to practice these exercises at home or office and use them to proactively care for your body in the future.

Myofascial Release

Sometimes muscles shorten after injury or trauma, and this may cause painful or uncomfortable movement. At Spine In Motion Chiropractic Rehab, we use manual muscle techniques to increase motion and reduce pain.

Sports and Auto Injury Rehabilitation

Our team is well versed in providing the best, most successful rehabilitation for those involved in serious accidents, hits, and falls. We see dozens of patients suffering due to sports or auto injuries, and while every program we put together differs, the outcome is the same: a reliable, responsible, and safe recovery.

Massage Therapy

Our team consists of two licensed massage therapists who use a variety of massage therapies to promote strength, comfort, and relaxation to the muscles. Sessions range in time from 30 minutes to two hours, and we offer:

  • Soft tissue
  • Deep tissue
  • Prenatal
  • Sports
  • Swedish
  • Active stretching
  • Myofascial release
  • Hot Stones

Frequently Asked Questions about Back Pain

Does Chiropractic Care hurt?

No. Chiropractic care does not hurt. However, if you are in severe pain, you may experience moments of increased discomfort. These moments are very short and diminish over time. At Spine in Motion Chiropractic Rehab, your San Antonio Chiropractor, we always start with the most gentle methods to ensure patient comfort.

Do I have to come forever to keep my pain away?

No. Our mission is to help you fix your condition and give you the means to help keep the pain away. Some patients experience episodes of recurring pain, but those episodes are mild, and canre be resolved with periodic maintenance visits.

Will Chiropractic Care make my condition worse?

No. Chiropractic care is a natural, non-invasive treatment method. At times our patients experience some soreness from their prescribed exercises, but those episodes are mild and improve on their own.

Can Chiropractic Care help children with back pain?

Yes. Children can benefit from Chiropractic care the same way adults do. Do not worry; the force applied to children during their treatment is less than that of an adult. Starting Chiropractic care early can help children prevent age-related spinal problems such as degenerative disc disease or spondylosis

How do I know if Chiropractic care will help my back pain?

At Spine in Motion Chiropractic Rehab, we do a thorough evaluation of your symptoms and history to be certain that you are a candidate for Chiropractic care. If it is determined that you are not a candidate for Chiropractic care, we work with many of San Antonio’s best physicians and practitioners, and we are happy to refer you to someone who is best equipped to help your condition.

Is a Chiropractor a doctor?

Yes. A Chiropractor earns a Doctorate of Chiropractic during their studies. These studies include a 4-year undergraduate degree in science or pre-medical science and a 4-year Chiropractic program at an accredited University. Before a Chiropractor is allowed to treat the general public, he/she must also complete an internship and residency where he/she successfully treats a number of patients under the supervision of another licensed Chiropractor. In addition to this, many Chiropractors further their education by earning diplomates in Orthopedics, Sports Rehabilitation, and Radiology. Although Chiropractors are not able to prescribe drugs in all states, they are indeed licensed to evaluate you for back pain or any health issue you may experience.
